As we are now at the conclusion of the 2016/17 season plans are not moving forward with our formal assessments for our VIPL and Gold level teams for our fall program. These will be starting mid to late April and running thru the end end of May. All players must be registered with JDF Soccer to assess and the 2017/18 season Registration link is now active. Your player should try and attend as many sessions as possible but do not fear if your player cannot make them all. For our Silver and House level players those sessions will take place once the VIPL and Gold are concluded

(Formerly known as Spring Technical Training)

  • This season’s Spring Technical Academy (formerly referred to as Spring Technical Training), will be open to players currently in the U9 to U13 age groups, and will be an additional cost to the Spring League. We are charging $50 for the entire group of training sessions (10 sessions = approx. $5 per session).
  • This Academy will be limited in numbers, and will be on a first come basis!
  • The Training is available for any keen player with a strong desire to improve. We provide excellent coaching aimed at developing players interested in pursuing their soccer potential.
  • The sessions will be comprised of skill training and mini scrimmage games.
  • Training would begin for players currently in the U9 to U13 age groups.
  • Players will be divided according to age and potentially skill level. Our philosophy is to challenge players appropriately and accordingly.

  • JDF Soccer will once again run a fun Spring Soccer League.
  • Spring soccer is games only, once a week.
  • We will attempt to have gender specific teams where we can.  If there are not enough of a particular gender, teams will be mixed.   (Teams are mixed (boys & girls together).

Dates: April 10 thru June 27, 2017
Ages: U4 (Born 2013) to U18 Register in the age group you are in right now (e.g. if you are playing U9 today, register as U9 for Spring Soccer)

The Vancouver Island Premier League (VIPL) provides Tier 2 soccer for our youth soccer players, between the BCSPL(Wave) and Club-based Gold level. (Click here to understand the Levels of Play).
A new process for forming Lower Island VIPL Teams has been approved by the Clubs. The change will see 3 teams formed on a geographic basis within the Lower Island District: for the West, North and South sub-regions.
The change will be phased in over several years. For the 2017-18 season, it will apply only to the new U14 Boys and Girls VIPL teams (Players born in 2004). The older VIPL divisions will continue to form teams the same way as in the past.
Some Key Points for Players:
  • The assessment process will start in March. All interested players will attend the same assessment, and must pre-register. Additional assessment sessions will be in April.
  • The VIPL league format is not changing. Lower Island teams will play away games against both Upper-Island VIPL teams, as well as games against each other.
  • VIPL players selected will register with their home club (based on residential address), paying the club fees. All VIPL players will also pay an additional VIPL fee.
