Vancouver Island Wave 2005 Born assessments and Parent Information Evening

The Lower Island Soccer Association is pleased to announce the dates of the evaluation process for the incoming 2005 born age group who will start play in the BC Soccer Premier League in September of 2017. Players are expected to attend as many of the evaluation sessions as possible.  In 1986 Frank Leversedge started the World Cups to bring our communities together, boost opportunities for youth soccer players to travel, while celebrating the World Cup. Frank's festival continues in 2017 during Easter Weekend on
April 14th & 15th.

This year our festival hopes to give over $8000 to charitable causes and community groups. One of these causes is the Frank Leversedge Memorial Fund which is open to all players, teams and clubs in our district.

The Vancouver Island Premier League (VIPL) provides Tier 2 soccer for our youth soccer players, between the BCSPL(Wave) and Club-based Gold level. (Click here to understand the Levels of Play).
A new process for forming Lower Island VIPL Teams has been approved by the Clubs. The change will see 3 teams formed on a geographic basis within the Lower Island District: for the West, North and South sub-regions.
The change will be phased in over several years. For the 2017-18 season, it will apply only to the new U14 Boys and Girls VIPL teams (Players born in 2004). The older VIPL divisions will continue to form teams the same way as in the past.
Some Key Points for Players:
  • The assessment process will start in March. All interested players will attend the same assessment, and must pre-register. Additional assessment sessions will be in April.
  • The VIPL league format is not changing. Lower Island teams will play away games against both Upper-Island VIPL teams, as well as games against each other.
  • VIPL players selected will register with their home club (based on residential address), paying the club fees. All VIPL players will also pay an additional VIPL fee.
