Assessment Schedule (updated May 13)

Print PDF

The JDF assessment process will be starting on  Saturday, April 27.  All sessions will take place at field Number 1,  Belmont Secondary School, Jacklin Road.

Please send players equipped with  proper equipment ( boots and shin pads ).  Parents who coached last year or  who are planning to register to coach this year would be welcome to attend and  fill out assessment forms for the appropriate age group.  The assessments  will take one hour to one hour and a half.  For the majority of the groups  there will be three assessment dates spread over the next two months.  Our  technical directors, Gord Johnson and Mark Reeves will be in charge of the  assessment process.  The goal of these assessments is to determine each  players level of play in order to place the players on the appropriate  teams.  A secondary benefit is to get players registered for the upcoming  season so that plans may be made as to what teams JDF will register with  LISA.

Please remember that all players coming to assessments must be registered  with JDF.  The online registration system for 2013 is up and running.   See you at the field.

JDF Assessment Dates for Next Season

Assessments will be scheduled for late April to June for boys and girls registering to play soccer in the U11 through U18 divisions. This year we will be including the U11 division. There will be three assessment dates scheduled for U11 and U15 participants and two assessment dates for U16 to U18 participants. JDF will have our Technical Director and Asst. Technical Director running the sessions. We will have assessors in attendance from our adult teams, coaches registered for the upcoming season and many knowledgeable members of the JDF association at as many sessions as possible.

Much of the information about the returning players will be supplied through assessment forms given to all coaches and asst. coaches at the end of our current season. These forms along with the data received at scheduled assessment dates will help determine levels of play for the coming season. Players are requested to attend as many of the sessions as possible but not worry if they cannot attend all sessions due to other commitments.

A separate set of assessment dates will be scheduled for the players identified as candidates for possible VIPL teams. The JDF candidates will be identified through our assessment dates by our technical staff. As we will be pooling resources with Sooke Soccer and Cowichan Valley Soccer for possible VIPL teams the additional dates will involve candidates from all three clubs. Further details will be available once decisions on which age groups will be entering VIPL.

Please remember that to participate in the assessment process your son or daughter must be registered as a player in the JDF system. The assessment process is very important for new or returning players to the JDF association.  See you at the assessments.
