Calling Potential Sponsors!

The Juan de Fuca Soccer Association is looking for sponsors for the 2017/2018 season to help us thrive and grow as a community sports club. We have many new initiatives that will enhance our club and directly benefit JDF soccer players.

Sponsoring the JDF Soccer Association is a great way to support and give back to your local community. Your contribution will help us maintain a first-rate club that all players will want to be part of, as well as directly impacting these players in a healthy and active lifestyle.

By being a sponsor you’ll have the opportunity to expose your business to thousands of individuals in and out of the community. Some of the many benefits of sponsorships may include: Website advertisement, Social Media mentions, company banner displayed at local events, and company logo on our storage box.

If you would like to learn more about our various sponsorship packages, please contact our JDF Soccer Association - Director of Projects: Keith Haigh at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Also, if you know community buisnesses, leaders or supporters that may be in a position to help our club and enjoy benefits of sponsorship--please help us spread the word!

Photo's will be on Sundays Oct 15th and 22nd at the basketball courts at the far end of the parking lot at Westshore Parks and Recreation just on the other side of the playing fields.

Please have your teams on site and ready to go in full uniform 15 minutes prior to your scheduled photo time.  There will not be time to take photo's at random if you are late.

You should have received your photo time from your coach - thus, if there is a conflict with this schedule, please go with what your coach has sent you.

If you have a conflict in your time regarding an overlapping game schedule please let me know ASAP and we can fit you into one of the spare time slots.

Please have your player ready in full uniform (black shorts/socks) with jersey ready to smile!

ACTIVE START SOCCER FEST

UPDATE:

The North Saanich Middle School had a delivery of portable structures and a large crane. As a consequence, there are changes to the original field locations. [The North Saanich Fields E and F have been moved to Parkland Rugby Fields E and F]. These changes will not affect North Saanich games on fields A, B, C and D.

The updated maps and schedules are lined below.  Please note, this will put additional pressure on parking at Blue Heron/Parkland so leave plenty of time.  Also for teams playing at North Saanich fields A, B, C and D (U8’s) the school board has asked us to remind and encourage our attendees not to cross any barricaded areas - it would really help with the logistics of having a huge crane on site.

The updated schedule for LISA’s annual mini festival, the Canada Soccer Active Start Soccer Fest, hosted by the Peninsula Soccer Association is attached. Each team is scheduled two games. Your games will be played at Blue Heron Park or Parkland School or North Saanich School in Sidney (<-- UPDATED MAP linked).  We cannot stress to you enough to please leave extra time for parking.

All coaches are to check in at the LISA administration table at Blue Heron Park prior to their first game to pick up their T-shirts and game packages. If your first game is not at Blue Heron Park and you are unable to check-in until after your first game that will be fine.  There will be LISA representatives at the tournament all day should you have any questions for them.

A concession will be open for the tournament at Blue Heron Park at 8:30am including breakfast burritos, burgers, tacos and other soccer favourites. There is also a first aid attendant in attendance at Blue Heron Park for the tournament should you need one.

This is a tight schedule with little, if any, time in-between games so make sure you arrive well enough ahead of time in order to find parking and to have your team ready to play. There are 158 teams participating and parking is limited so it would be a great idea to car pool.

Also there will be little, if any, warm-up time allowed on your field of play so you will need to find a suitable area nearby for your players to warm up safely and properly.

The home team (listed first on the schedule) is responsible for the game ball and must wear a jersey colour different than its opponent.

This is not a competitive tournament. There are no trophies to be won and no standings will be recorded. Do your best to make it a fun and enjoyable time for everyone, including the game officials.

All U8 games are two halves of 20 minutes each, 4 v 4.

All U9 games are two halves of 25 minutes each, 6 v 6.

All U10 games are two halves of 25 minutes each, 6 v 6.

As previously noted, this is a tight schedule so no additional time can be added to either half.

We are looking forward to a fantastic day, and a fun festival.

See you there.

October 19th, from 5pm - 8pm @ Distrikt Nightclub, Strathcona Hotel

KidSport Greater Victoria would like to share their great news: A brand new event that is launching in just a couple of weeks.

We have teamed up with Jon Montgomery (2010 Olympic Gold Medalist and Host of The Amazing Race Canada) to bring the “Jon Montgomery Pizza Pigout” to life!  It’s happening Thursday, October 19th at Distrikt Nightclub.  Tickets are on sale now, and we’d love for you to share info with your network please.  This is an adults-only night of food, drink, prizes, auctions, and fundraising for KidSport Victoria.  Annually, we now fund over 1400 local children in need into seasons of sport, to roughly 200 local sport organizations, including JDF Soccer Association.  This event promises to be a great fundraiser for our organization - and the more people who attend, the more children we’ll be able to reach with assistance in the months ahead.  Your help is appreciated!

We have amazing sponsors and supporters on board, many pizza place donating their best pies, and a big crowd attending - including names and faces you’ll recognize from media and sports world (Simon Whitfield, Ryan Cochrane, Hilary Caldwell, Michelle Stilwell, Joe Perkins, Jack Knox, Louise Hartland, and others will be there - come say hi!).

More info is at www.jonmontgomerypizzapigout.com.  Tickets are linked to that site, or can be purchased by going directly to https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/jon-montgomery-pizza-pigout-tickets-32540434315?aff=ehomecard.

Thank you so much!
